A lot of people on Facebook seem to be doing this 30 days of thanks for the month of november..with Thanksgiving coming up and all. I thought it would be fun to do this, but on my blog. So here it goes!
Day 1: As my parents are heading back home tomorrow morning, I’m thankful for everything they have done while they were here. I’m thankful for them coming down to Texas to watch our wonderful daughter while we got to go on a vacation. They are such good grandparents to Lennox! They do so much for us, even though they live half way across the country. We are lucky!
Pretty much ever since we moved into our house in February 2008, a few pictures of Kyle’s dad have been put up around the house. For those of you who don’t know us personally – he passed away before I ever met Kyle. And since I put those picture up, there they have sat. Well until about two weeks ago…
That is when Lennox discovered a small picture, in a frame, on a side table, in the living room! She immediately started smiling, laughing and talking to it. She then proceeded to grab it from the table; big surprise right? What doesn’t she grab from a table?! She just loves looking at the picture of him! She carries it around with her when she is playing throughout the day. She even has a little hiding spot for it (behind a cousin on the couch) and she calls him Ba-Ba. It’s very sweet.
I’m sad she will never get to know him personally, as I didn’t get to either, but I know that her Daddy and the rest of the Terrell family will tell her lots of stories about him. From what I can tell, she would be spoiled rotten (as if she isn’t already) if he was around still!
Other than going to the beach Lennox was able to experience some of the other things around town that I grew up with, as well as spend lots of time with Family.
One night we went to the a new concert series in the town park – it was at 6pm which was about the perfect time for a little one like Lennox. Like any concert – at the end of a song, everyone would clap – sounds uneventful right? Well every time this happened, Lennox would look around and she seemed to think everyone was clapping for her – and then would start clapping – it was super cute!! Her Great Auntie Diane saved the day as well and got her a beach ball – which she loved to play with all week while we were there!
Trying to eat the beach ball!
Chatham Band Stand in Kate Gould Park
We spent a lot of the mornings playing out on Grandma & PopPops deck and in the kiddie pool they had. She also loved to play with the bubble toy that PopPop got her – it was probably the best $3.99 ever spent on a toy. It worked better than anything and she learned really fast how to use it!
Playing with the block in the pool is just that much more fun!
I'm outta here...
Sprinkler Time
We had plenty of time to visit with all the family in the area. She even started to really WALK while we were there – especially for her Great Auntie Diane. Here is a cute video of one of the first times we did it (too bad Kyle wasn’t there to see it in person )
A few pictures of her with all the family she got to visit and play with:

On Saturday we had been invited to a family reunion for Kyle’s mom’s side of the family but we were unable to go since we were at Henry’s 1st Birthday Bash! That afternoon we got a call saying Great Grannie Annie (and Grammy J & Lennox’s (4th or 5th) Cousin Barbie were going to stop by for a bit to see Lennox. Grannie Annie doesnt live as local anymore so it was a nice surprise. Lennox & Grannie had a lot of fun playing together – she even got down on the ground to play with her! We have to make it out to Tyler soon to spend a weekend with her. I hope when we do – it goes better than last time (she was 2 months old and cried literally ALL weekend).
Here is a picture with 4 generations! We have Lennox, Kyle, Kyle’s Mom (Grammy J), and Grammy J’s Mom (Grannie Annie). I hope that Lennox will enjoy having some pictures like this when she grows up!
Well, Lennox & Mommy have been back from our vacation for a few days, I just haven’t had time to get pictures online and write some posts! We had a great vacation!! Lennox had a lot of fun with Grandma & Pop-Pop and all the other family! We spent lots of time playing on the deck, building or knocking over towers pop-pop built, shopping, going to concerts, eating ice cream and having fun!
We brought Lennox to the beach two different days. The first day, it was not a good beach day at all! It was blowing a gail out there. We almost didn’t get out with her, but I wanted to give it a try. She actually didn’t mind the high winds too much!
Grandma, Lennox & PopPop -- Let me down into that sand!
First time in the sand
Lennox the Lifeguard!
She didn’t seem to mind the sand too much, as long as she didn’t put it into her mouth! That, she did not like at all!! Here is something every kid likes to do at the beach – be a lifeguard!
We tried the beach again a few days later and it was a much nicer. She liked the sun, sand, sandcastles and water. She especially liked DRINKING the salt water – yuck! She did not like the mouth full of wet sand she got. We were able to go to a beach that had a regular wavy side and another river that was much calmer. It seems much safer for little kids, even though when I was little I started to get swept away by the current w/ my cousin. Needless to say my mom had to jump in (in her clothes) to save us from floating away!
