Say Cheese: School Pictures

School Pictures, rarely do they come out good, unless you are my nephew Henry, his came out perfect – cute little happy smiling toddling boy – but for Lennox, her pictures do not come out well!

When we switched Lennox to her new school, it happened to be school picture week. So here comes day 3 and we had school pictures — this was the result:

Someone forgot to give Mommy the memo that it was going to be Christmas/Winter themed, hence the monkey outfit! OOPS! So this was the best picture they could get. The others she was completely crying, rather than just taking a break from crying! Oh well, I still bought a sheet of pictures, so I had her first school photo.

A few weeks ago we had school pictures again — both individual and class — the results? Not that much better! First we had class pictures, where they had to wear their uniforms and there is just one picture to choose from. Here it is:

As you can see, we seem to be looking like Miss Grumpy Pants in this picture. The teacher who is with her is the assistant Miss Virginia - Lennox loves her – she is super nice! The other teach is actually not her teacher, but a substitute that day, unfortunately!

Then a few days later they had their individual picture. They are suppose to get 3 poses, but I guess they could only get her to somewhat cooperate for one — this is what we got:

It’s better than the others, but still not great! The colors are better in person, this is a scanned in photo. Either way, I still love getting her school picture, and will always buy at least the $15 sheet of photos to put away for her to have later

A Gift for a Two Year Old…

As you know, Lennox’s birthday is coming up. Our ~~little girl~~ big girl is almost two years old! Rather than getting a few misc little gifts, we like to get one big gift that will last her quite some time. Last year we got her the play kitchen – which she loves and uses more and more as she grows older.

This year we decided she needed a good toy to keep her entertained outside. We thought a playground/climber would be a great choice. There are so many to choose from but after lots of research we landed on this one:

Kyle went and got it this past weekend – The box wouldn’t even fit in the SUV! So after taking it apart in the Toys R Us parking lot at 8pm saturday night, Kyle got it home and it currently looks like this in our garage:

Lennox saw it yesterday and wasn’t sure what it was, then saw the slide – sat on it and said weeeeeee! She will be so excited when she sees it put together. Will we be able to wait until her birthday to give it to her?

As I said in the last post, Lennox has been singing a lot lately. I usually know or have sang some of the songs she sings but we haven’t really worked on ABCs at all. Well, apparently she has been at school! This weekend she kept singing them over and over. Sometimes she would get almost all the letters in there, but a lot of times she would skip over some — it was pretty darn cute. I caught one of her renditions yesterday on the way to Mother’s Day lunch.

I hope all the mommies out there had a good day! Lennox decided it was a good day to not take a real nap and to be cranky, so I guess she just wanted to give me the real Mom Experience. Before she decided to be miss cranky pants, we were able to get some donuts and head to the playground/park. She LOVES playing at the playground. I think she would go down the slide all day if someone let her!

Later we attempted our nap, which didn’t happen– so we headed out for lunch. She was horrible while waiting for our table, I was ready to leave, but once we sat down, she calmed down and we had a good family lunch together. She loved the flower that waitress gave me. Later we finally napped, played in the yard then headed out for our first snow cone of the season. I’m not sure she was expecting it to be so cold, but I think she liked it!

All in all it was a good day. Unfortunately, she wouldn’t let daddy take our picture together, so this is all we got:

Up Above the World So High

Lennox doesn’t always react much to music when she hears it playing, but she sure does love to sing. We will hear her on the baby monitor at bedtime and in the morning in her crib, singing a kids song, or even making up a song. She has been known to make up songs about shoes, going outside, socks, books, everything… every once in a while she will bust out a song and sing almost the whole thing without missing a beat. This is what she did this weekend when we were on a walk. She sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star a few times through – I was able to catch it on my phone. Enjoy the cuteness

The past TWENTY TWO months have flown by…

The past TWENTY TWO months sure have flown by. Lennox is already 22 months (almost 23 months, since i’m running way behind) and I am starting to plan her 2nd birthday party. I’m not sure if i’m ready to have a 2 year old!! – although we have hit the terrible two milestone – thats for sure! Little Miss Smiley Pie here may look sweet, but she has a mind of her own and knows what she wants, and if she doesn’t get it, you are going to hear about it!

So, what is going on in Lennox’s world?

~~Words~~ Sentences: We no longer are trying to keep track of what words she knows, she seems to know everything she needs to know – she never shuts up! School says she is somewhat quiet, I find that hard to believe! She goes to bed talking and wakes up talking… and likes to tell you what she wants, sees, feels, likes, etc. She will repeat almost anything at this point, which can be a fun game to play! Mommy and Daddy have to be very careful with what we say these days!
Favorite toys: She still loves her babies, her play kitchen, fisher price talking animal zoo. She is really into playing outside and doing arts & crafts.
What makes her laugh: She still loves to be chased and playing hide and seek – that gets the biggest belly laughs still.
Clothing size: 2T/3T — she is growing like a weed (height wise – still has a tiny little waist)
Shoe size: 5.5-6 lately! Her feet decided to start growing a lot!
Favorite Foods: She will eat about anything, but her favorite snacks are fruit snacks, strawberries, oranges, apples, cookies, ICE CREAM, applesauce and cheese.
Favorite Drink: Milk & Water are still what she likes. She will ask for Lemonade or Orange Juice, still no apple juice.
Number of Teeth: We have 16 teeth so far!!
Milestones: On our last update, I said we may be starting potty training – that has gone now where. She likes to sit on the potty, for about 2 seconds, but that is all that happens. She goes, I DID IT! when she sits on the potty and then gets up, but so far, nothing is happening. We are not really working on it much though — she just isn’t ready yet. Other milestones? She is climbing up into her chairs, she can walk up and down the stairs pretty well and she is learning how to ride her trike.

Well, thats about it — Soon i’ll be writing our 2 year update — i’m not ready for a TWO year old!!
